Experience

For almost 27 years, I have advised companies in all areas of Intellectual Property and Copyright Law.

I started working at several international law firms, such as the IP-specialized Grünecker, Kinkeldey, Stockmair & Schwanhäusser (especially in the area of Trademark Law), and thereafter at Baker & McKenzie (IP and IT-Law).

Until February 2016, I worked for almost 15 years as legal counsel in the legal department of Siemens Aktiengesellschaft in Munich. At Siemens, I gave legal advice on all areas of Intellectual Property and Copyright Law, especially on national and international R&D cooperations, public funded R&D projects, patent and know-how license agreements, patent pools (including all related internal and licensing agreements), and copyright cases. In the last years at Siemens I focused on the negotiation of IT-related global framework agreements for the whole Siemens group (IT Software and Hardware procurement for internal use and use in products and projects), as well as legal advice on Cloud Computing, Virtualization and Data Protection.

Between September 2022 and September 2024, I worked as legal counsel for the largest European institute for applied research, especially in the field of national, international and European funded projects (such as Horizon Europe-projects) and EU-Tenders.

In the last years in my own law firm (since 2017) I have been mainly advising clients in the field of technical standardization, especially regarding software and patent licenses and R&D cooperations.
